On March 12, 2020, I-DIEM Co-Founder and CEO, Chauncia Willis, provided her perspective during the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Office of Equal Rights (OER), Women’s History Month Observance Event. The theme of the event was “Women in Emergency Management:  Riding the Tides of Change.”  Ms. Willis discussed the contributions and growth of women in emergency management, the opportunities and challenges they face, and their role in shaping the future of emergency management.  She was joined by the Event Organizer, Angela R. Gladwell, Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Risk Management Directorate; Moderator, Mary Comans of FEMA; Panelist Jane Cage, Lead for Joplin’s Citizens Advisory Recovery Team; and Panelist Libby Turner, FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer. The event was also attended by Kay Goss, I-DIEM Advisory Board Member and former FEMA Associate Director for National Preparedness from 1993-2001.
