GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Institute for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Management’s (I-DIEM) is a global, nonprofit established to facilitate change by integrating equity into all aspects of emergency management. Essential to impactful change is the ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective training and curricula for external clients including local, state, and federal government, nonprofit organizations, and private sector companies. To fulfill our organizational mission, we are currently seeking a Curriculum Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for the performance and management of a team of curriculum developers while also contributing to the development of I-DIEM-related training.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE:

1. To manage the relevant Curriculum Area ensuring a high quality, cost effective, efficient, and legally compliant curriculum is provided.

2. Coordinate with organizational leadership and liaise with the curriculum development cadre (CDC) and training cadre (TC) to facilitate smooth organization and effective utilization of staffing and resources to optimize learning experience.

3. To be responsible for the management of the learning programs as agreed with organizational leadership.

STANDARD RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To manage the relevant Curriculum Area and be responsible for the delivery of innovative, well-researched learning courses ensuring viability and value for money, quality, and effectiveness in alignment with organizational goals and mission.

2. Lead an effective, efficient, flexible, and capable Curriculum Development Cadre ensuring achievement in curriculum area targets.

3. Oversee consistent implementation of the course development process among the CDC.

4. Implement a wide range of teaching and adult learning strategies across the curriculum to ensure most effective opportunities for learning.

5. Ensure all delivery teams are clear, focused and supported to deliver high-quality curriculum that can be taught by course facilitators.

6. Ensure, where appropriate, course assessments to gauge learning outcomes.

7. Additional duties as designated by organizational leadership.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge and/or expertise in emergency management highly preferred.

2. Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organization skills.

3. Demonstrated ability to develop effective training curricula.

4. Strong writing skills.
